City of Pixel Town is based on my earlier pixel-art efforts titled “Pixel Valley”. The comic strip averages about 4 new cartoons a week and largely centers around the life of a certain red haired graphic designer and his many friends
The background artwork is created in Photoshop, while the character design is done (almost) exclusively on the iOS app “Dots”. The images are saved as a gif and then converted to an SVG to be rescaled and lettered within Illustrator. The vector conversion keeps the artwork crisp regardless of scaling and makes it perfectly suited for web or print purposes.
