The Thanksgiving edition of The Vindicator Newspaper wasn’t just any ordinary newspaper, it was a part of the Thanksgiving feast! The initial concept given to me included many separate elements, each having it’s own shot: a turkey, a newspaper, a pile of sales ads, and a table with a feast.
I combined the separate elements into a single 3D scene embodying the idea of The Vindicator as part of the local resident’s Thanksgiving feast.
While it may be a little simplistic by today’s standards, this piece will always hold a sentimental place in my heart as a project that was truly fun to work on, especially while I was away from home at gradschool. The Vindicator has since ceased operations, but it’s place in Mahoning Valley history lives on.
